Nutrition and Hydration

Updated Friday June 24, 2016 by Derry Wolverines.

Inadequate hydration can have a significant impact on an athlete's performance.  There is also a significant increase for heat related illnesses in dehydrated athletes.  Please take a look at the PDF below titled "Nutrition and Heat Index" to help your athlete avoid the common problems associated with not drinking enough fluids and learn some of the common warning signs of heat related illness.

BASELINE TESTING

The Wolverine organization is participating in the ImPact Baseline Concussion Testing program for all athletes in the 2016 season. We feel education is essential for our athlete’s safety. The “Heads Up” on Concussion in Youth Sports program developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) offers Parent/Athlete Concussion Information Sheets that includes the signs and symptoms of a concussion and the precautionary steps to follow if you suspect your athlete has a concussion.

ImPACT (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) is the first, most-widely used, and most scientifically validated computerized concussion evaluation system.

For more information we encourage all of our parents and athletes to visit.
